SAME SAAIM, but different

SAAIM is for anyone working within General Medicine who wants to improve, who is not satisfied with status quo. We take the Long View of clinical excellence, that mastery in a chosen profession – being really good at what you do -- is the culmination of years of practice.

We are bringing to bear all the talent available to the problems we are trying to solve.

Why join SAAIM?

The best version of us individually and as a group influence positively the way people think and feel about their work, inspiring members to a greater commitment to excellence and better performance at the bedside. That’s the sort of culture we strive for.

SAAIM does this through building opportunities for professional development: teaching, clinical research, and service delivery. All members are involved in service delivery; most members teach; some engage in clinical research. All of these activities help us to be our best.

All three domains build synergy at the bedside. Teaching helps consolidate learning and can stimulate better research questions. Clinical research informs better clinical practice. And service delivery is the practice that ties it all together at the bedside: sharing research insights with patients and colleagues; teaching; clinical care.
