SAME SAAIM, but different
SAAIM is for consultant physicians and the wider multidisciplinary team in General Medicine who want to keep growing, who are curious, and who are not satisfied with the status quo. We take the long view of clinical excellence: mastery in patient care comes from years of practice, reflection, and shared learning across disciplines.
We are building a culture where the best version of each of us – and of us as a group – shapes how people think and feel about their work. For consultants and senior clinicians, that includes modelling curiosity, supporting colleagues and trainees, and helping to shape the future of general medicine in South Australia.
We support this through opportunities in three linked domains: teaching, clinical research, and service delivery. All members are involved in service delivery; most teach; some engage in research. Together, these activities create real synergy at the bedside: teaching consolidates experience and sparks better questions, research and quality improvement refine our decisions, and service delivery ties it all together in the care of patients.
