SAAIM is for nurses, allied and scientific health professionals, and doctors working in General Medicine who want to keep improving and are not satisfied with the status quo. We take the long view of clinical excellence: becoming really good at what you do is the result of years of practice, reflection, and shared learning across disciplines.

We want the best version of each of us – and of us as a group – to shape how people think and feel about their work. For nursing, allied and scientific health professionals, that means being recognised as essential partners in care and in the improvement of our services.

SAAIM builds opportunities for professional development in three linked domains: teaching, clinical research, and service delivery. All members are involved in service delivery; many teach; some engage in research. Together, these activities create real synergy at the bedside: teaching consolidates learning and sparks better questions, research informs practice, and service delivery ties it all together in the care of patients and families.
